Helping You be Successful with Donkeys
Rescue donkeys are worth saving! Although, the road to their recovery and retraining can be a long one.
I’ve been taking in rescues and getting donkeys out of the auction/slaughter pipeline for several years now. It’s always been worth it, though if I had help when I started it would have been much easier!
I want to help people be successful with their donkeys. That means donkeys that have a good history as well as rescue donkeys that may need more understanding.
I have mostly decided to focus on taking in the male donkeys at this time, because they are at more risk in my area to end up in the kill pens.
If you want to help a rescue donkey but aren’t sure you are ready please read my articles, case studies or my book. You can volunteer at a donkey farm like mine, or at a rescue that takes donkeys to learn more.
My resources are to help all donkeys develop skills they need to live a happy, less stressed life. Once a solid foundation is built on positive training methods and trust, then advanced skills can be developed like camping trips, riding and driving. Some donkeys are especially good at agility and liberty too!
There is no end to the fun you can have with a donkey!
The training methods I use are focused on building a trusting relationship with the donkey. Not methods of force, flooding and heavy pressure.
